Born into a family with a deep musical heritage and raised amidst the vibrant music scenes of Cape Town, Ralston's musical odyssey began at an early age. Imbued with the rhythmic spirit of jazz and the soulful melodies of gospel, he found solace and inspiration in the elegant world of classical music. Guided by a profound appreciation for these diverse influences, he embarked on a musical voyage that would shape his unique artistic identity.

From a young age, Ralston displayed an innate connection to the piano, drawing inspiration from classical masters Sergei Rachmaninoff, Alexander Scriabin and Frederick Chopin, and legendary jazz luminaries Keith Jarrett, Joe Sample and Oscar Peterson. He embraced the rich tapestry of jazz improvisation and the heartfelt expressions of gospel hymns, infusing them seamlessly into his performances with an unparalleled level of soul and authenticity. It was through the fusion of these genres that Ralston discovered his true artistic voice. As a pianist, his fingers dance with breathtaking grace, eliciting emotive and poignant melodies that speak to the depths of the human spirit.

With an insatiable thirst for knowledge and a dedication to honing his craft, he embarked on formal training, immersing himself in the rich traditions of Jazz and Classical music. Under the tutelage of esteemed mentors, he honed his technical prowess while nurturing his intuitive understanding of musical expression.

A masterful composer, Ralston crafts original works that defies convention and celebrates diversity. His compositions are a symphony of emotions, intricately weaving classical motifs with jazz improvisation and gospel fervency. Each note carries the weight of his experiences and aspirations, offering audiences an intimate glimpse into his creative soul.

In 2012, he introduced his inaugural EP titled "Red Lanterns," an intriguing blend of Jazz and Classical orchestration. This was followed by the release of two Christmas Singles and an additional Single with captivating Latin Jazz orchestration. Notably, during the pinnacle of the global pandemic, he undertook the composition and launch of eight Contemporary Classical Piano singles. Among these, the notable titles "A Doll's Ballet" and "Tempest" stand out, offering a clear glimpse into the trajectory of his forthcoming contemporary classical compositions, encompassing both solo piano and orchestral works.

As a performance artist he cherishes the connection forged with his audience.
